"Vintage Machinery" entry for Eastern Machine Screw Corp.
Description:
This patent was improved upon in patent #1,464,177.

Claim:

My invention relates to thread cutting tools of tile character known in the trade as "'die heads," it being an improvement on the patent granted to me August-3, 1915, No. 1,148,510. One of the several improved features of the present construction consists in locating the cam, for actuating the threading dies, ini close proximity to the axis of the die head, thus greatly reducing the size of the die head for cutting threads on small screws and work of like character.

In combination with a die head carrying radially operating threading dies and a shell embracing the head carrying cam studs engaging the dies, said head having a shank, a cam lever having a bore provided with internal cam grooves, means on the shank to register with said grooves, said cam lever rotatably mounted on the shank and located in workable relation with the shell to actuate said shell to close the dies.
