Description:
Two similar pieces connected by a rivet, designed to form a connecting link for chain, etc. that can be opened and closed by pivoting on the rivet. Lugs and notches on the pieces serve to interlock the pieces to resist spreading under strain.

Ingalls links were advertised as repair links for chain, as adjustable connecting link for clevis, etc.
