Vintage Machinery entry for Spalding's Machine Shop
Description:
An 1855 advertisement for Spalding's Machine Shop in Lockport lists, as one of their products, "Nicholson's Shingle Machine, for sawing Shingles, the best machine in use. It will cut 1000 shingles per hour for ten hours in succession. Price, complete, with jointer, $150." The ad predates this patent but in the absence of other information we assume that Spalding's also made this improved design.
