Description:
Seen in an 1898 Hendrie & Bolthoff catalog, "'Pull Up' Blasting Machines. These machines are operated by a very easy and simple motion, which works smoothly and without any strain upon the parts. The operating bar, after being pulled up to fire, will fall back into place of its own weight and is ready to be used again..." Hendrie & Bolthoff carried three models: the No. 3 could fire 20 to 30 holes, the No. 4 could fire 40 to 50 holes, and the No. 5 could fire 75 to 100 holes.
