Description:
Quick adjust with adjustment held by toothed pawls engaging rack teeth on the shank of the movable jaw. The strain is borne by the yoke rather than the pivots of the pawls.

Appears to correspond to a pipe wrench marked EVANS SURE GRIP.

Compare the arrangement of the rack and pawls to F. P. Galvin's Sept. 3, 1901 patent no. 681,910, where the strain is borne by the pawls & their pivots.
