This bevel gauge is designed primarily for laying out the angles needed for framing a roof. It features six different scales with various graduations for hip, valley, and jack rafter cuts, as well as standard protractor and regular polygon scales.

An improvement to this patent was issued to the same inventor a few months later (#1,126,310 - 1/26/1915).
