Description:
This combination panel gage and beam compass is full of interesting ideas. The tool uses a bar with a micro-adjustable wheeled marker on the end for marking, and a pair of interchangeable heads.

The panel gage head eschews the commonplace rabbeted edge design in favor of a pair of rollers-- one pair rides on the edge of the stock, and one pair rides on the face. This would help reduce the friction, makingthe tool run more smoothly.

The compass head includes a short rod sticking out of the top to help hold the tool and keep it steady, and a very clever "window" cut into the top of the head to allow the user to reference the graduations on the bar for setting the distance.
