Description:
The open end is shaped to allow ratchet action on square nuts. Wrenches of this general form were used on fish plate bolts joining sections of railroad rail.

One known example bears a prominent railroad ownership stamp on one side, and the Verona Tool Works logo on the other. Mention of the Verona Ratchet Action Track Wrench appears in a 1923 ad, and thereafter in later railroad trade literature.
