At the Forty-Second Annual Fair of the American Institute, held in September 1873, David Milliken of 534 West 20th street, New York, won a Bronze medal for his kindling-wood splitter. An 1890 Trow's New York City Directory lists David Milliken, Avenue A corner of E. 76th, as a dealer in kindling wood.
