Description: |
| A central shaft with multiple "lobes" pushes corresponding plates against the inside of the bushing. This wrench would work equally well to insert or remove such bushings.
Corresponding Canadian patent no. CA-3,681 was issued July 20, 1874.
Pat. Nos. RE8,759 (June 17, 1879) and 228,731 (June 15, 1880) describe bushings designed to work with this wrench. This wrench's operation is much closer to the "Littlejohn" patents (nos. 138,568 and 145,807) which Cornell had challenged in court as infringing his earlier patents -- see nos. RE5,026 and RE5,027. |
