Description:
The innovation is a transformer core that is cast with a series of asbestos sheets in slots within the castings. The sheets were placed in the mold before pouring the molten metal. This construction was claimed to be lower cost than the usual laminated construction.

A growler from Armature Rewinding Co. has been seen that has a transformer whose construction closely matches the patent drawings. A slightly earlier patent granted to this inventor had been assigned to this manufacturer, although this later patent was not so assigned.
