Description:
Uses a clamp screw and bow spring to keep the blade in place and eliminates the standard placement of clamping screws on each side which reportedly were in the way of workmen.

A known example (image 4) has a printed paper label: Superior Elliptic / Manufactured By Manley Packard / Warranted Cast Steel / North West Bridgewater, Mass / Patented April 21, 1857, No. 4

The number "4" is handwritten in ink on the label.

The overall length of the known example is 9 3/4" and the blade is 2 1/4" long.
