Description:
The machine is primarily intended for hub mortising. We have not been able to determine if this machine was manufactured.

Co-inventor Duck was a partner in the carriagemaking firm of Duck & Sandover. Co-inventor Davies was with the auctioneering firm of J. P. Davies & Co. ("J. P." being Judah P., Joshua's father). Duck was a colorful character who was elected to the provincial legislature. He was accused of blindly supporting the government because he had lucrative blacksmithing contracts from them.
