This invention relates to the class of tools and pertains particularly to a pair of tongs designed especially for handling of wire of various degrees of circumference. A primary object of the present invention is to provide in a manner as hereinafter set forth, a tong for the handling of wire wherein one of the jaw members may be adjusted to enable the user to obtain a firm grip on the wire body over an area extending longitudinally thereof a distance equal to the length of the jaws.
