Description:
Wissinger says ..." the nature of my invention consists in double forwardly-curved cutting-bits, with vertical projecting cutting-edges to each bit ... ." The purpose of the forwardly-curved cutting lips is to begin to raise the chip before it is separated by the spur, which, according to Wissinger, allows the bit to work more easily than other bits.
