Vintage Machinery entry for W. F. & John Barnes Co.
Description:
Invention is an inexpensive shaper or matcher cutter.

At the 2001 "Live Free or Die" auction, a Barnes treadle-powered shaper with 25 bits (16 of them marked with this patent date) sold for $2,750. (Such prices are not typical for Barnes machinery. This example is a rare model in excellent condition with all accessories.)
