Description:
John Walter Stokoe (who went by the name Walter) married Mattie J. Leitch on 1878-12-05. She had married Neil Leitch 1869-10-05, and Neil died on 1876-07-09.

Inventor Stokoe was probably associated with the Stokoe, Nelson & Secor sawmill. That sawmill was previously known as the Stokoe & Nelson mill, and before that, the Stokoe, Secor & Co. mill, the latter name change occurring in about 1881.
