Description:
The jaws clamp together by the action of a cam lever. The specifications note that any wrench-type adjustment means could be used, and the tool's overall resemblance to a wrench. The fixed jaw is tapered to facilitate insertion between the cotton and the band, and extends beyond the movable jaw. The tool's action is to clamp the metal band binding a cotton bale, and then break the band by rocking the tool back and forth.
