Description:
The major adjustment means is a rack and pawl; the screw-adjust insert provides final fine adjustment.

The specifications note and disclaim anything included in the March 28, 1865 McDonald patent (no. 47,067).

A combination quick and screw adjust nut wrench marked NOVEL WRENCH CO PHILADELPHIA has all the features described in this patent, matches the appearance shown in the drawings, and one example has enough surviving markings to confirm the patent date matches.
