Claim:

A rotary seal assembly comprising a stationary sealing member having an annular axially facing sealing face, a rotary sealing member having a radial annular sealing face in sealing engagement with the face of said stationary member, a cylindrical sleeve formed of a resilient material of initially uniform diameter with one end secured to the rotary sealing member, and a holding ring for the other end of the sleeve with said other end turned outwardly and being under stress and extending in a reversed direction outwardly of the sleeve and secured to the holding ring.
