Description:
The shaft of the corkscrew has a ratchet at the end with a square portion adjacent. The ratchet works to drive the screw into the cork. By shifting the handle so the square portion of the shank engages a square section of the enclosing socket, the handle and shank are locked to withdraw the screw.
