Vintage Machinery entry for Defiance Machine Works
Description:
Improvement on patent 378,322.

This patent was one of three seen on each of three spoke lathes from John T. Towsley Mfg. Co. of Cincinnati. The machines were likely made by Defiance and resold by Towsley.

Update: The 1910 Defiance catalog shows the same machines. Given that inventor Kettenring was president and co-owner of Defiance, it seems clear that they were the actual manufacturers.
