Description:
Adjusting nut on a threaded rod which comprises half of the shank; the other half is a smooth rod. This patent is conceived as an improvement to patent no. 273,170, although that patent is not mentioned explicitly in the specifications.

The CAPITOL WRENCH cites this patent date along with the earlier patent noted above, but the adjusting nut rides on the smooth rod, and engages rack teeth cut on the facing rod.
