Description:
Axle nut wrench that clamps an axle nut to the hub so turning the wheel will also turn the axle nut.

Comprised of adjustable jaw segments attached to a band that clamps around the outside of the hub band.

The 1908-04-18 issue of Domestic Engineering and the Journal of Mechanical Contracting, says: "The E. L. Essley Machinery Company, of Chicago, has been incorporated with a capital of $25,000, to manufacture machinery and tools. The incorporators are E. L. Essley, B. E. Spangler and David F. Noble.
