Description:
Improvement to cutting pliers in patent no. 477,066, incorporating improved cutting plates, and means for one hand to reach both handles even when they are spread to their maximum, and which may also be extended as a spring to open the jaws.

An 11-inch long known example is marked with both patent dates, but does not have the secondary handle or spring features described in this patent. It corresponds in appearance to Root's Aug. 22, 1892 Canadian patent CA-39,951.
