Description:
US patent 10,662 was granted to R. P. Benton of Rochester, NY, for a "machine for dressing spokes". It is likely that the Canadian and American patents cover the same machine, and that Mr. Benton was in reality a resident of the USA who pretended to reside in Toronto so he could obtain a Canadian patent (at the time, only Canadian residents could be granted patents.)

XC patents are Canadian patents issued between 1824 and 1869.
