Description:
The interior of the handle is threaded, and has four grooves running the full length of the interior. The shanks of the two jaw sections are tenoned together, and form a square. Threads are cut on the corners of the square. The jaw segment for the fixed jaw has a spur engaging a groove near the closed end of the handle. To adjust the wrench the handle is turned so the four grooves line up with the corners of the shanks so the movable jaw is free to slide. After the jaws are positioned on the nut or bolt to be held, the handle is turned to engage the teeth and hold the adjustment. To obtain the necessary interior shapes, the handle is made in two parts and held together with binding rings. The rings at the fixed jaw have stops to facilitate aligning the jaws and grooves for quick adjustment.
