Description:
Improvement on patent no. 526,047 and previous designs. The wrench features a bifurcated foot, and an adjustable takeup.

Corresponding Canadian patent no. CA-51,363 issued February 17, 1896 provides the inventor's full name.

One ad for the wrench appears in an annual -- "Proceedings of the ... annual convention of the American Railway, Bridge and Building Association." A June 1907 HARDWARE DEALERS listing gives the manufacturer as the DUDLY TOOL CO. of Menominee, MI. A known example is marked "NEWELL WRENCH PAT. DEC. 17-95" and "MANF'D BY THE MENOMINEE WRENCH CO. MENOMINEE, MICH."
