Description:
The adjustment is held by wedge-shaped pawls within the movable jaw. The pawls are attached to a "U" shaped plate that is held away from the main shank by a leaf spring. The jaw is adjusted by sliding once the section containing the pawls is pressed out of engagement. The patent includes the detachable pipe gripping jaw inserts.
