Description:
Lever handle with rack teeth that engage rack teeth on the main shank set and hold the adjustment of the movable jaw. A spring and wedge holds the lever handle in the "closed" position.

Ken Cope's "American Wrench Makers 1830-1930" identifies Vessey as making this wrench based on a review of the patent in SCIENTIFIC AMERICAN.
