Description:
The central adjusting worm changes the size of both openings; as one closes the other opens.

The design sought British patent protection at the same time; three names appear in the account of proposed British 1897 patent no. GB-189714386 in the June 18, 1897 THE ENGINEER. A listing in an 1897 British trade journal suggests this was marketed as the PETERBOROUGH SPANNER.
