Description:
Adjustable jaws fit within a "jaw-holder" with a circular exterior. Lever handles are attached to a band that surrounds the circular jaw holder. Closing the lever handles tightens the band, for a ratchet-like action. An August 5, 1897 IRON AGE article describes Lambkin's production of a combination friction wrench and drill corresponding to this patent.

Lambkin received an improvement patent (no. 620,461) on February 28, 1899.
