Description:
A small spring-loaded thumb lever in the base of the fixed jaw controls a wedge-shaped toothed piece inside the fixed jaw that engages rack teeth on the shank of the movable jaw to hold the adjustment.

This is scaled to be appropriate for a bicycle or pocket wrench.
