Vintage Machinery entry for H. Bates & Son
Description:
The manufacturer of this fan, D. L. Bates & Bro., became D. L. Bates & Brothers Co. in 1903. Before that, the firm was H. Bates & Son, and other that name they made a blacksmiths' drill press. Under the D. L. Bates names they also made electric motors although that seems to have been a sideline to the fan business.
