Claim:

In a gas-engine provided with a cylinder, intake and exhaust valves, an igniter, a piston and a follower, an eccentric adapted to force the follower into the cylinder, a shaft operating said eccentric and provided at one end with a beveled cog-wheel, a countershaft provided with a beveled cogwheel gearing with said wheel and means for operating the same, substantially as shown and described.
