Description:
The patented feature is similar to Coes' parallel patent (No. 638,956). In this patent, "legs" extending from the ferule to the end of handle of a Coes "knife handle" wrench are fixed to the wrench shank by butterfly shaped wedges which are locked in place by a hammer blow, and the end cap keeps the "legs" tight to the shank during the process.

This is the second of three successive patents exploring alternative modes of strengthening the "knife handle."
