Description:
The patented feature is the segmented jaw, combined with the cam end on the handle which pulls the jaws tight. The design came out of the Pennsylvania oil region.

A known example marked "B & CO" does not provide sufficient information to identify the maker.

Crumbie's Tongs (pat. no. 171,999) were conceived as an improvement to this design.
