Vintage Machinery entry for Vulcan Iron Works
Vintage Machinery entry for Grinnell Mfg. Co.
Description:
In 1903 the Koch Mfg. Co. was manufacturing this boring and tenoning machine. That firm moved to Grinnell, IA and reorganized as the Grinnell Mfg. Co. but as far as we can tell the reorganized firm did not make this machine. A 1911 ad for the Vulcan Iron Works of Mason City, IA, shows this machine.

The inventor must have thought highly of this invention as he also obtained British patent GB-190,300,091 and Canada patent CA-84,676 for it; this is his only invention—of which he had several—for which he obtained foreign patents.
