Description:
The lever handle has gear teeth in an arc that engage a toothed rack on the sliding jaw. The wrench will handle a range of lid sizes within its overall capacity. Stork Mfg. of Dayton, OH is listed as a manufacturer of jar openers and sealers in _Ohio Toolmakers and Their Tools_ by Jack Devitt.

A known example includes a can opener, and is marked only with the patent date. It was described in the December 1, 1904 IRON AGE.
