Description:
The adjusting sleeve has internal left- and right-hand threads; the movable jaw and an extension of the handle have corresponding threads. The main shank is a "flat oval," with independent attachment to the handle. This construction revisits the concept of "speed adjustment" which appeared in mid-19th Century wrenches such A. G. Coes 1853 and 1854 patents 9,945 and 11,208, and George C. Taft's Oct. 16, 1860 patent no. 30,431
