Description:

"The object of this invention is to allow the machine to which power is transmitted by a revolving tumbler-shaft to be removed farther from or nearer to such power, without the necessity of uncoupling the shaft for the purpose of introducing separate pieces to lengthen it or taking out any part of the same to shorten it, as in applying my invention to a wood-sawing machine, to obviate the necessity of using a truck or drag to bring the consecutive portions of the uncut log up to the saw..."
