Description:
The primary focus of this patent relates to the manner in which the blade is adjsted and held in position. Conically tipped adjustment screws register against the canted upper rim of the blade in such a way that the blade is forced down as they are turned in. The blade is secured by separate set screws which register against the upturned shanks. Packard claims this allows the blade to be removed for sharpening and returned to the shave with no need for adjusting anew. The adjustable shoe of the shave is simply to control the shaving aperture necessitated by successive sharpenings.
