"Vintage Machinery" entry for Clinton & Macpherson Co.
Description:
The handwritten specification begins, "...certain new and useful improvements on Conveyors for Threshing Machines" and then ", Elevators, or Grinding Mills" has been appended afterwards.

The invention itself is for the construction of a helical auger. Each turn of the auger is a separate piece constructed by punching or cutting a circular disc, slitted radially and with a square hole broached in the middle. The disk is then bent to form one turn of the helix and permanently attached to a piece of square tubing—the hub—through the centre broached hole. This piece of tubing is then slid onto a square bar that is the shaft of the auger and affixed with a set screw through one end of the hub. A series of these "sectional spirals" forms the complete auger. If part of the auger becomes damaged it can easily be replaced by sliding the others off the end of the shaft.

The assignee, Jody L. Stirewalt, is listed in the as residing in the USA
