Description: |
| A universal joint at the angle allows force to be applied around slight corners. Supplied with a variety of sockets that snap into place in the driven head. Advertising describes this head and similar structures on extensions, etc. as the "nose." It has an internal split ring spring which acts as a retainer to hold sockets, etc. in place. The sockets and the rod handle store inside the hollow handle.
The drawings show a sample socket, a "standard socket driver," a screwdriver, and a "FORD valve grinder" without specifically identifying those functions. Btitish patent GB-144091 covers the same tool with a different title and completely re-written set of specifications and claims.
A spring ball retainer in the cap to hold the rod handle in position while in use received patent no. 1,457,570.
Produced as the Billmont Masterwrench. The company advertised extensively when the tool was introduced, but appears to have operated for only a few years. Patent no. 1,455,147 pertains to a ratchet supplied with some BILLMONT sets. |
