Jeff Joslin Vintage Machinery entry for Arcalous Wyckoff
|
Description: |
The aperture in the cutter is slightly elliptical, with the primary cutters (a) placed at the smaller dimension. The core-piece, therefore, is slightly smaller in diameter than the inside of the tubing body, reducing friction. Also, there are secondary cutters (d) just behind the primary cutters, which make shear cuts on a tangent to the core, with the aim of smoothing the core's surfaces and further reducing friction. This patent was granted an extension by/before 1874. |
