Description: |
| The specifications describe a quick-adjust sliding jaw axle nut wrench which uses a quarter turn of the handle and screw to hold the adjustment. The wrench as produced has jaws as shown in the drawings but the adjusting screw is continuous.
Notices in the August 25, 1887 "Scientific American" and other fall 1887 trade journals described a double jaw "axle nut / nut wrench" version, the single jaw version was announced in the October 31, 1886 "Iron Age." |
