| "This invention relates to a method and apparatus for shaping metallic objects by the electrolytic process. Electrolytic shaping involves the removal of material from a metallic objects by passing high amperage direct current between a metallic object, or workpiece, and a rapidly rotating conductive wheel or disc moving in close proximity to the workpiece in the presence of a water solution of electrolytic salts. With the wheel or disc rotating in very light contact against the workpiece, material is removed from the workpiece principally by electro-chemical action rather than the snagging action common to the ordinary abrasive wheel method..." |
