| "This invention relates, more especially to machine tools such as lathes and milling machines... In semi-automatic machines of this character the work or tool is rapidly advanced by the operator to the cutting position and the automatic feed is then put into action. If performed carelessly the operated is attended with the risk of bringing the work into violent contact with the tool or the like, and in consequence tools are frequently damaged from this cause. The object of the present invention is to provide simple and reliable means for automatically bringing the automatic feed into action at a predetermined position so that any risk of the operator accidentally overrunning such position is eliminated..." |
