The inventors were described as vise makers. We do not know the name of their business.

A couple of decades later, vises were being manufactured at the New London Vise Works in New London, Connecticut, by Samuel Hyde, William Hyde, and Joshua Hyde. We do not know if the New London Hyde family was related to the Worcestershire Hydes.
