Jeff Joslin Vintage Machinery entry for Gilmore Pattern Works; G & W Tool Co.
Description: |
| This patent covers the well-known "Wagner Safe-T Planer" which was first manufactured by the Gilmore Pattern Works and then by G & W Tool Co. Long after the patent has expired copies of it are still in production. It is somewhat safer than similar products from competitors because it uses a chip-limiting design that reduces its tendency to grab the work. It is not, however, "Absolutely Safe" as claimed in some early articles about the Safe-T-Planer. |
